About Disney's "High School Musical"
High School Musical is an Emmy Award-winning American television film. Upon its release on January 20, 2006, it was the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOM) ever produced, with a television sequel released on August 17, 2007 and a feature film sequel planned for release in October of 2008. The film's soundtrack was the best-selling album in the United States for 2006. The movie was shot almost entirely in the Wasatch Front in Utah (namely Salt Lake City and Murray).
With a plot described by the author and numerous critics as a modern adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, High School Musical is a story about two high school juniors from rival cliques: Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens), a beautiful and shy transfer student who excels in math and science. Together, they try out for the lead parts in their high school musical, and as a result, divide the school. Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry, inspiring others along the way not to "stick with the status quo."

Bands Face Off in San Pedro
Bands of all styles are invited to register for this new, first annual competition held at Warner Grand Theatre
Proceeds from this event will benefit TRS YOUTHORIZONS.
Up to 15 bands will compete for the title, "STAR OF SAN PEDRO"
During World War II, a fishing vessel was employed by the United States Navy to sweep the coast of the South Bay for enemy mines. That vessel was "The Star of San Pedro" which had been redesignated by the military as USS Frigate Bird (AMc 27). The boat has since been lost at sea following its service, forgotten like a one-hit wonder. Today, a battle is brewing in San Pedro, and whichever band can best navigate the musical minefield and capture the hearts of the audience and judges, will be deemed "Star of San Pedro".
Prizes, registration fees and dates will be announced soon. Check back frequently for updates! Send your inquiries to: bands@therelevantstage.com
